Super Saturday

Two terrific demos were in store for us on Saturday. Our dear friend Donna was back, this time to share her nifty techniques creating cards with the jumbo cling stamps from Stampendous.

Here's how it is done...

First create a pretty background using 'Smooch' sprays....

Use your stamp to determine where you want the stamped image to be on the card....

Place stamp on the acrylic block and ink with a light colored ink, then stamp on the background paper (Donna matched up the upper left corner of the block to the upper left corner of the paper)...clean stamp and leave on block...

Use the Memento dewdrop ink pads to color in the stamped image. The tips of these ink pads make direct to paper inking a snap...don't worry about being perfect here...

Re-ink stamp with black ink and re-stamp over the colored image. The block acts like a stamp positioner...

Viola! An absolutely beautiful card...

Here's another beauty...

Later that day we had a special visit from Jennifer Priest demonstrating the Epiphany Crafts Shape and Button Studio line of tools. With these unique and easy to use tools and your favorite scrapbook papers, you can create your own custom epoxy shapes like circles, hearts, and flowers, or acrylic buttons in a couple of easy steps...

Jennifer designed the cards for the free make n take for you...

Look at all those tools we got to play with...

Everyone had a great time...

Thanks for coming by and being a part of the fun...

Make N Take Wednesdays

We saw so many smiling faces on Wednesday for the weekly Make N Take...Here are a few of our dear friends who didn't run away when they saw me take out the camera!

And Happy Birthday to you Joyce...

Little Jacob was very patient while his Grandma made a card...

This weeks project was a birthday card featuring stamps from Hero Arts and Penny Black, papers from American Crafts, and a flower die from Lifestyle Crafts Wildflower Gift Set.

Your $1.00 contribution for the Make N Take is donated to the Breast Health Care Center at Inland Valley Community Hospital, via our Power of Pink Party in October. Because of your support we have donated hundreds of dollars to their programs. THANK YOU!

Say Cheese!

Did you know that May is National Photo Month?

If you are like me, you might only take photos to document those specials occasions...birthdays, holidays, vacations...but what about snapping some everyday photos? One of my favorite blogs encourages documenting daily life through photos and simple scrapbooking. It can be found here. You'll find loads of tutorials and great projects, too. Have fun!

So, no excuses now...get out that camera and start shooting...

Do You Pinterest?

What in the world is Pinterest, you ask? Well, I will let you discover it for yourself. But be forwarned, it is very addicting...we take no responsibility for what you do or don't do as a result of lurking around this fabulous website. Just Google Search 'Pinterest' to get to the home page. Then view the categories that interest you...we like 'Gifts' and 'DIY'. Go check it out and leave a comment on our blog about your favorites....

Today I found these great 'rubber stamping' crafts...Simply wrap yarn around a wooden block to create a unique 'stamp'...

And from Martha Stewart herself....buttons hot glued onto to wine corks to make mini 'stamps'...

I made a bunch of those and will bring them into the store so you can try them out...yes, they really work. How pretty for a simple background on a tag, or ATC card. Pretty neat, we think!
