Wonderful Weekend

Barb was back at it again with a demo featuring Penny Black, but this time with stamps. These adorable springtime images of bears, mice, hedgehogs, and cats in the colorful style that is uniquely Penny Black are always some of our favorites. We know you love them too.




Barb shows us her special blending techniques. Pencils, chalks, and watercolor result in beautiful cards.

Words To Live By

A couple years back Ann re-introduced me to this treasure...



The author, H. Jackson Browne, originally wrote Life's Little Instructions Book as a gift for his son who was leaving home to attend his freshman year in college. The 'instructions' are simple, direct, practical and just plain make sense. Published in 1991, this little gem has sold more than nine million copies, has spent more than two years on the New York Times best seller list, and has been translated into 33 languages! And no wonder why...here are a few favorite 'instructions'...



I was thrilled to find my neglected and dusty copy on the bottom shelf on my bookcase shoved underneath other books. It is now my favorite read, right on my nightstand, a page a night. Simple advice for a happy life! Maybe you have a copy somewhere, too? (As of this posting we have just one copy in the store. Who will be the lucky reader to snatch it up?)

I think we'll go bowling this weekend...

A Weekend with Penny Black

On Saturday our sticker diva Barbara treated us to an afternoon of great card making, demonstrating how to take these...

new stickers sheets by Penny Black and transform them into beautiful cards perfect for any occasion...

These cards are quick to make, the addition of embellishments allows them to be turned into a elegant one of a kind card.

Barb shows us how to add glitter, pearl pens, embossing, gems, ribbons, a heartfelt sentiment and the perfect background paper. Amazing what can be made from one sheet of stickers!

On Sunday Nancy 'played' with her favorite dolls from Penny Black. We love the sweet 'Mimi' stamps just as much as she does.

A beautiful scrapbook box and card combination you just have to see to believe. Hidden little drawers to stash special treasures. Expertly colored with copic markers...

And sweet cards...

And a few extra surprises...garden clips and memo holders made from a new line of SEI paper, appropriately named 'Sunny Day' . This stuff is gorgeous...paper packs, embellishments and more...we think the foil detail on the papers adds just the right touch.
