Sometimes I think I spend too much time surfing the internet. Yet occasionally all that surfing yields a find that brings a smile to my face.
You have all seen this...

Here are a few variations that I love...

And my favorite...Wishing you a calm day in whatever you do...

Dazzling Demos

What a weekend...two great demos we hope you enjoyed. On Saturday, Donna impressed us again with her beautiful cards from Elizabeth Crafts designs that featured fine line stickers, glitter and gems. She answered all your questions regarding the stunning techniques that always bring on the 'oohs' and 'aahs'. These sparkly cards are just so lovely and appear to be more difficult to make than they really are. Donna emphasis a bit of patience, taking your time, and the right tools are all you need for beautiful results. For more individualized instruction, sign up for Donna's class on Saturday April 9. Call the store or in come for more information.

Pat, Leslie and Micki certainly love those stickers...

Color clear stickers with alcohol inks for customized results...

Watercolor over glitter...

Add sparkly gems from this sticker sheet...

Just gorgeous don't you think?

Next up on Sunday with Ginny and the latest release from Lifestyle Crafts, dies featuring flowers, bunnies, borders, and boxes! We previewed these dies with you just before the Craft and Hobby Association show in January and we know how excited you all were about them. Ginny shared with us some amazing projects she created.

Amazing detail on the fry box...stitched ribbon and cardstock...(cute papers from We R Memory Keepers)

Sewing pattern tissue paper flowers... and see the pennant attached with a tiny clothespin...

These and lots more adorable samples are in the store for you to come in and take a closer look!

Friday Favorites

Welcome! Today Joan wants to share with you her special favorite from this week...
Flea Market Style magazine.

This beautifully photographed and cheerful magazine is packed with great ideas on what you can do with junk, garage sale finds, collectibles and more. It highlights vintage style decorating projects, collecting and shopping tips, junk make-overs, and even includes a recipe or two. Amazing fleas markets and antique shows around the country are also featured. You will find craft projects galore throughout the magazine...did you know you can make a really cute flower from a beat up baseball? Or how about making a curtain rod from a croquet mallet?

This truly terrific magazine will become one of your favorites and sure to be a collector's item. Although we have a good amount on hand at the store right now, don't delay in picking one of these up...this is sure to be a sell out (the 2010 edition is no longer available). Lucky for us another edition will be out in the fall 2011!

My pick this week is The Crafty Chronicle by Donna Salazar. This cute 16 page 'newspaper' with a vintage feel is meant to be read as well as cut up and used for craft projects. I actually get two of The Crafty Chronicle, one to keep and one to use!

The Crafty Chronicle is packed with inspiration, updates on Donna's craft lines, crafting tips, project ideas, tutorials, humor, quotes, collage elements and more.

I love making paper flowers, especially from vintage dictionary pages, maps and music sheets.
Unfortunately those papers are very thin and fragile and are sometimes difficult to die cut and punch. They also disintegrate and tear too easily when painted or sprayed.

The Crafty Chronicle is acid free and made from 100% recycled paper. The thicker paper absorbs your favorite paints and sprays mists, and cuts beautifully. Here I have sprayed a page with Tattered Angels and have cut scalloped circles to make flowers...

Beautiful don't you think? And no vintage book was harmed to make these flowers.
